Fourth gen i have a shiny suicune, great stats, great moves, full contest stats, caught in hoenn. I got it over the WFC. I'm fairly sure it was hacked.

back on topic, i was chaining Bedoof's to ev train, and i got a shiney when the chain was at 7 lol
*edit* make that two shiney Bidoof, both on number 7 lol

z, when u say 4 spaces away, do u mean take the grass patch that is 4 steps away from you, or if you set up a box for every level progressing away from you, take one in the fourth ring?

I think he meant fourth ring, but it may be fourth space in general. I would wait for Dave to post back to answer you.

Yeah it's the fourth ring, which is always 4 spaces away in some direction.

when i did it, it wasnt always the fourth ring. but i go for the closest one that is not withing the 3rd or lower ring....works for me

The 4th isn't the only one that works. It just has the highest chance of working.

Uh oh, a double post . It's ok though, it's for a good reason. I was chaining a little while ago and managed to get 5 shiny Shinx in about 2 hours (counting the time it took to get the chain to 40). It definately works. Oh and Dave, I think I beat your record ;D.

so it really works. good to know. I think when I try i should pick a grass patch with less types of pokemon in it. Maybe then i wouldnt have such bad luck.

how many types can appear there doesnt really effect anything as long as you follow the rules
