I'm thinking of joining your game there, guys, now that I have the computer capacity. I won't be able to play all that often, but I have a lot of time at weird hours of the day that're good for gaming. If I don't have to study, I'll join you once in a while for an hour or two. I'll be the low-level player who gets ganked 'cuz he has to study and stuff. XD
Sooo... what server are you guys on, what brigade, etc. How do I find you if I join AR, and will you guys be playing now that you're at school? Are there any time commitments?
I'd like to join if it is not too complicated.

Glad to hear you're interested! We are currently on Auriga server. Yes, you may have noticed previous posts stating Helix...but we left it after it became extremely imbalanced. Not easy to do after putting months into it, but worth it overall. Auriga is smaller for now, but will grow as more people join the game. We plan to be a dominant force by the time it grows. When you join, choose ANI when you reach lvl 10, not BCU. This takes about an hour, to an hour and a half of gameplay. When you join ANI, then you can put us on your friend list.
Me: cmysta Dave: FlapJack Zack: Zootster Ray: ratool Zach Dalton: Iryth Joe: AWESOMEDUDE
play as much as you want. Dave will have to give you a rundown on Teamspeak, he knows more about it than me. No time comittment, but it's a great way to stay in touch with people and get a break from studying!

No headset, just a small mic built into my laptop monitor and a set of earbuds. Is the headset vital? If yes, where gets I one?
Update: I registered an account, but I don't know how to choose the auriga server.

If you want to voice chat (which I'm sure you do), then a headset is vital. $10-20 will get you a fine one. The mic on your computer will not suffice. been there done that, way to fuzzy.
To select Auriga, all you do is click on it when you open the AirRivals client and log in. Done. Build your gear and enjoy the game!
Ah a thought. Perhaps you have made an account through the website but not yet downloaded the game? If that is the case, set the download going before you go to class or something where you don't need your pc for a while, since it takes some time.

AR download pageTS downloadvoice.teamspeak.org:8767 thats the server adress we use, its team speak's public server #1 we always have a channel titled TastyNoodlez, if its not there you make one, ill pm you the password that we always aply to it. and yes, a headset is very vital. ray actually went out and bought one and hes stingy and doesnt play that much, but he is on ts just to talk sometimes, trust me its very worth it.

I'll have to do without one for a while, until I can next get to a games shop, because I now have AR installed. I'll be on for a while now.
Update: I got screwed over again. every time I go to the shortcut, even when I'm logged into the website, the game downloads a patch and then tells me _______________________________________________ AirRivals _________________________________| _ | X | _______________________________________________ | ( X ) Access to ' ./\airrivals.exe' was denied. | | _______________________________________________|
...and then it doesn't do a damn thing. What's going on? And why do computers hate me trying to play MMO's??!

hmmm the server could have been down...i assume its nothing with your computer unless you're maxing your ram out before you open it. sometimes the patches take a while, especially when you first download the game. i don't think anythings changed since the last time i downloaded it, so your file should be fine. hmmmmm.
and just so you know, you don't need a game store for a headset. walmart or radioshack etc. work just fine if that's easier.

I couldn't have maxed my RAM out, because I have four gigabytes of it...has that message ever popped up for you before?
Update: It still won't let me on, I just tried getting on after finishing my math homework... groan...
Updated update. I am going to try two fixes, running AR as an admin and/or running it compatible to XP, service 2. We'll see what happens. *Grumble...Vista...Grumble*

You'll have a new I-gear and either an A-Gear or B-gear, if I get around to working with those characters. My I-gear char is VolParagon (obscure metroid prime reference), and the bomber is randommensch.

Awesome! Don't forget to go ANI when you hit 10, then we'll add you to our lists!
You picked a great time to join. It's the dawn of a new era for ANI. The focus of this month is leveling per demand of the new leader, perfect for you!

I've joined ANI with an I-gear.
I think I'll make an A-gear soon...
Question, how do I list you guys as friends?

Hit F7, click on the friend tab (second tab i think), click add, and type in our names. i think that covers it.
